The book, No One Quite Like Me by Mary Diestel-Feddersen & Lisa Herriman is a great text to use during an Australia Unit of study. The writer's craft uses a guessing game throughout the book giving one fact about the unknown animal and then asking a question such as: "You have fine, snug fur to keep you warm, A kangaroo is furry. Are you a kangaroo?". As you work your way through the book students are learning about animals that live in Australia as well as the pattern of writing in the book.
Students can then choose their own topic using the same format by giving one fact and then asking a question like the authors chose to do in No One Quite Like Me.
